Location

The Record Street Home is located in historic downtown Frederick within a four-block area informally known as “Court Square.” Most of the buildings date from the 19th century. There is a mixture of homes and churches, including the former law office of Francis Scott Key and partner, Roger Brooke Taney. This area is the “jewel” of the downtown historic district.

Located within one block is:

  • Baker Park: The largest city park where patriotic celebrations, festivals, and concerts are held. There are walking paths, benches, a carillon tower, a band shell and a lake.

  • The William B. Talley Recreation Center (only across the street) offers ongoing activities of interest to the community.

  • Memorial Park: A lovely area that honors Frederick’s war heroes.

  • City Hall and Park: A beautifully landscaped area with a fountain at the center.

Located within three to five blocks:

  • The Weinberg Center for the Arts

  • The County Court House

  • C.Burr Artz Public Library

  • Many historic buildings, churches, shops, and restaurants.

For out of town guests, most accommodations are located near I-270, Route 15 and Route 40 West within 5 miles of downtown Frederick. For more information about the Frederick area, visit the Frederick City website.
